I have a 2000 caravan and the AC only blows hot air. It has the right amount of 314 in it and the compressor runs but the hoses never get cold. Does this system have a deverter valve? I think its one of two components bad, either the deverter valve or the compressor.

How did you check the amount of refrigerant. Just because the compressore is running doesn't mean it has the right amount. Need a set of gauges to check pressure on the high side and low side for a good diagnosis.

 

Yes you will have an expansion valve if that is what you mean by diverter. Many systems also have a high pressure relief valve as well.
