I have replaced fuel filter. left it in a shop for three days and they couldn't figure it out. They did get it to stall but every time it would throw a different code if at all. They suggested possibly a bad PCM. Too much money for guess work!

Ok, anyhoo!
Last night the stalling was very persistant. I stopped at a store for about 3 minutes. Had no problems on the way there. I was only about 3 tenths of a mile from the house.

When I got back in to start the van it kept stalling imediatly. I finally slammed it into gear while holding the brake and throttle and limped home like a 2 legged dog. When I got out I noticed the smell of hot metal.

I was quit familliar with the particular smell so I looked under the van and sure enough the catylitic converter was cherry red. I noticed it felt as timming was drastically retarded. That would explain the hot exhaust. That was the first time it did that.
