Default Overheating when running AC?

Hello,

I have a 98 Dodge Caravan Sport 6cyl w/ approx 148,000 miles on it. It has been overheating everytime I run the air condtioning. I do not think I hear the fans running, when the air is turned on. This is primarily happening if your at an extended time idling. If you are moving the vehicle forward you usually can run the air.

Where is the first place I should look when trying to troubleshoot or replace a faulty item.

Sincerely,
Todd F.

Todd
Can you have someone with a DRB3 to actuate the fan module. If the fan does not come the fan relay maybe the problem or the fan module it shelf. Also ck with the dealer, you could have a fan relay recall.

Here is a update for your van. There is a RC771-98 for the fan relay and a flash update for the PCM too.
