Default fuel pump relay

I was driving a 1989 Dodge caravan and when I parked and shut off the engine, then tried to restart a few minutes later it turned over but did not start. I put some gas in the air intake and the engine started and ran briefly, telling me that mechanically the engine is OK and the ignition is working. Since the failure was on a restart, I suspect the relay or some other component other than the pump. I listened at the fuel filler pipe and hear no sound of the pump running. There is gas in the tank. The engine is a 3.0 L with multiport injection. I have not worked on this vehicle or one like. I need to know the location of the fuel pump relay and any other components that might be faulty. Where is the fuel filter and is the fuel pump in the tank?

Thanks

Don

Default RE: fuel pump relay

rI believe the fuel pump relay is in the engine compartment on the right fenderwall(on a rail)with several other relays. The Filter should be on the frame (right side) midway down the van and the pump is in the tank. But my memory has failed me before...
