97 Carvan error code
Hey everybody! Just looking for a little help here. My transmission recently decided it didn't like the way it was put together and felt it was time to come apart!! Had to take it to the tranny shop where they replaced the planetary and rebuilt the torque converter. everything was fine for the first ten days until i noticed the "service engine soon" light on. Doing the on-board diagnostics, it spit out error code "45". Looking in my Haynes manual it crosses over to P0700 code. Any ideas on what to look at first or should I just call the tranny shop and let them deal with it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Depending how long the Tranny shop serviced your Tranny, I would take it back to their shop. The error code P0700 is Transmission Control System (MIL Request). The MIL Request indicates engine light will come on if fault is found. I had the same trouble code (P0700), and found that it is relevant to the output speed sensor. It is a $17.00 part (depending where you reside), and it is seated on the outer housing of the transmission. I have an 02 Caravan - the location of my sensor was on the transmission housing near the right side. The sensor is easily accessible from the driver side front tire (between bumber or fender). Make sure you put a little tranny oil (from the dip stick) on the o-ring. All you need is a wrench. Good luck, reply if you like...
