97 Caravan A/C Cooling Fans Problem
I"ve been messing around with this for awhile now.
My A/C works great when the van is moving, except the cooling fans at the rad are intermittent. They don"t come on when the A/C is activated, unless I disconnect & reconnect the pressure transducer switch.
The relay has been replaced, and the fans operate when the engine gets hot.
What I have discovered is this;
1. to get the fans to operate right away, I disconnect the plug from the A/C pressure transducer (located on te liquid line going into the firewall), and then reconnect it. The A/C clutch and fans operate immediately. However, sometime before the end of a trip, the fans shut off again, and the A/C temp gets warm again. Once the van is moving, the temp goes back down to 40'F.
2. If I let the engine's temp turn on the fans (when the temp guage goes over 1/2) while the A/C is activated, the fans will remain on until the A/C is shut down.
I'm starting to think the problem lies within the pressure transducer switch.
Any comments and ideas are most welcome.
