Default Electric Brakes for camper trailer

Hello,

Last year I bought a 16 foot travel trailer and it has brakes on it. I had an electric brake package installed in my Caravan. Last year they worked fine, but this year when I plugged the trailer in, they didnt work when I applied the brakes on the van. The brake lights, turning signals worked on the trailer but the brakes didn't engage. They only engaged when I manually applied the brakes with my hand on the device itself.

I hope I'm being clear.

Any thoughts?

You have either a ground or power wire issue by the sounds of it. Follw the wiring and check all of the connections. You might have to replace a wire if need be.
