Default 96 Caravan coolant leak

96 Caravan 3.8L w/ 201k. Radiator and heater hoses replaced about 17k ago. Recently noticed coolant on topof the transmission (directly below the heater hoses), collecting in the fins. Leakage seems to vary from day to day, but it's usually about a quart to 1/2 gallon a week. I can't seem to locate an active leak/drip, but I'm considering replacing the heater hoses again just to be sure.
Questions:
What else could it be?
Is it okay to reuse the clamps (they're the original squeeze kind).
What is that do-hickey spliced into the middle of the one of the heater hoses?
Thanks!

It could bethe head gasket or the heater control valve. Do a pressure test and you willl find the leak.

Thanks, I actually found it by assuming the "back side spark plug change position" and threadingmyhand upto inspect the hoses, that "do-hickey" (check valve?) in the middle of one of the hoses is leaking.

So what is that thing in the middle of the heater core to pump hose? Looks like it may have been a check valve? It has an arrow showing flow pointing towards the engine, but there is no flapper valve or ball inside. The hose I picked up at the local parts store does not have this, so unless it's important, it's not going to be replaced.

Isn't the heater control valve inside the dash? This was spliced into the middle of the hose, w/ nothing connected to it. I think it was the remains of a check valve. Anyways it's no longer there and the local parts store cut to fit hoses are doing fine. The dealer wanted 2x the $ and they weren't in stock. LOL.
