Need help to diagnose 2004 Caravan
My 04 Caravan, 2.4 liter has an issue with low speed driving. When going through a parking lot at maybe 10 MPH, 1st gear, and I hit the gas it "grabs". Then when I let off, still in 1st gear, I can feel it "release" as if it were a standard transmission. It will do this in 2nd up to 20 MPH. It's annoying as all get out. And it would seem this is strainuous on the drive train. I have had cars do this before, but only on the acceleration, not deceleration. Anyone else have this issue? Can someone with a 4cyl, next time you drive maybe see if yours does this? I just want to get some opinions before taking it the shop and they "invent" a problem that really isn't there.
Does this happen with the shifter in overdrive or are you moving shifter to 3rd or 2nd? Because when moving a shifter to lower range, the transmission will stay longer in that range until the reachs maybe 2500 rpm and wants to up shift. If there was a problem with your transmission the ck engine lite maybe on. Thats because you have the 40te or 41te transmission.
I've got it regular drive. "D" Fluid level is okay. It just mimicks a standard transmission when I let off the gas at 10-15 MPH. You can feel it GRAB, then slow down. Maybe I'm over reacting. My 01 Monte Carlo did, and my 93 Cavalier did it, BUT only on acceleration, not decelleration.
