I am about to take a long trip and my kids want me to take the van. It has 110,000 and really runs well. I have flushed the engine and radiator (radiator fluid looked new).

However, I do notice that the rpm will dip on idle. It does not happen that often and seems to happen with the air conditioning on only. Could there be a problem with the air conditioning clutch?

Could it also be the power steering pump or rack and pinion?

I am most worried about the engine or transmission giving out on my trip. Any other things to check would be appreciated!

Rpm will always drop 100 to 300 rpm with the a/c on. Try cleanning your throttle body and ais motor.
