hello to all, my brother and i removed the shifter cable from the transmission, including all the brackets that go with the cable, well on the transmission all that was left is a stub, when we tried to put it back together i wouldn't shift, is there a special way that the stub has to lign up and how do you know when its lined up?
its a 98 dodge caravan, 2.4 engine, 3 speed transaxle, if you guys have any ideas, they would be greatly apreciated....

Are you asking about the kick down cable or the shifter cable? The bracket for the kick down cable bracket is bolted with the dip stick tube.
