MyGiG Radio Software Update
My mother received this update in the mail from Chrysler with a letter explaining that the hard drive could crash, and the only fix would be to replace the entire unit unless you install this software update.
She called me to come over and install the CD. Update went through flawlessly, to version 9.041, I believe, and afterwards ALL HER FEATURES EXCEPT THE RADIO/CD PLAYER WERE GONE!
No Nav system, No UConnect, No Blue Tooth...
Took a trip to the dealer, at first they were stumped, but then the tech was gonna install the update again, but from their unit instead of her CD. Upon going over any TSBs and the instructions for installation, he read where they are supposed to pull the fuse to the radio after completion of s/w update.
He asked me if I did this, and of course I said no, since the instructions that came with the CD said nothing about any "hard reset".
He tried that first and upon re-connecting the battery, everything worked perfectly fine.
So, if you perform the update and lose features, just pull the fuse and let it sit a bit, or disconnect the battery to get the features back.
May save you a trip to the dealership...
