HI there all I have a dodge caravan 99, I think the transmission may be giong bad. when we start out you can hear a loud whining sound and as it trys to shift geers It misses and slips also it slips as we try to reverse too.

 

The front pump maybe giving out, causing the whine. You may want to get in the shop and have it ck'ed out. You may end up replacing the transmission.
