Default PCM reading

Located in Atlanta, we need to have emissions done each year. I solved a problem where the engine light came on, and reset the PCM by taking the battery cable off and on.

Little did I know that when we drove to the emission place, the van failed the test due to the PCM reset and we needed mileage to let the PCM read. The man told us to drive about 175 miles to get a reading.

Is this true or how many miles should we drive before we go back?? I don't want to keep spending $25 while it seems that everything was OK so far.

Thanks

Yes its true. Once a pcm as been reset, you'll need to drive 100 to 200 miles so the monitor can be read by the smog mechine. In some states if you have 4 monitors in the pcm, you only need 3 to run the smog test.
