Anyone had a problem with 05 caravan brake lights?? I checked ALL fuses and both bulbs all look ok. No rear turn signals no brake lights and the (front) turn signals blink twice as fast as they use to.??? Thanks in advance I'm impressed by some of the other posts I've read.

 

The brake lights have individual fuses. Check both.
Triple check the bulbs.
Then dig into the wiring.
Check for power or a loose plug from the rear wiring harness.
The 2X speed flashing just means that the resistance is reduced by the rear light not working.
Sounds like a loose connection plug.
Does the over head brake light still work??? That would be a lead if it still works.

As a long shot, remove the IOD fuse for a few minutes.
It resets the computer and looses some basic settings. But they return quickly.

Are you also having a problem getting the transmission out of park? If you are replace the brake switch. As far as no brake lites, could the brake switch, BCM/FCM or the wires going under the carpet to the rear of the van.

 

Hi,

Those bulbs have two filaments. One of them is assigned to brake-flasher and the other as the marker. If your front flasher flashes rapidly, it is a sure sign that the back bulb is out.

A cheap fix will be to buy new bulbs, don't look any further.
