Default Fuel light warning chime??

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my fuel warning chime, it's a '96, everything works as it should as long as I have a 1/2 tank or less, as soon as I put in more fuel then that the warning light comes on and the chime sounds every 20 - 30 seconds the more fuel I put in the worse it gets. I put on a new fuel filter and tried disconnecting the evap line from the vac pump. Still does it and only stops when it gets below 1/2. I'm taking it on a trip in a couple days any ideas or can someone tell me how to disconnect the chime?? Thanks for any help !!

Ck your ground wires at G104 and G102, G104 is next to the transmission module and G102 is on the left frame rail of the van.
