Default Wheel Stud

Perhaps I'm making this more complicated than necessary, but what is the easiest way to get out a damaged wheel stud on a 2002 Grand Caravan.

Either replace the bearing which will have new studs or remove bearing and use a BIG hammer and pop the old one out and then tap in a new one.

Best not to hammer away and damage the bearing. The stud can be pressed out. As to installing, it can be drawn in using a nut and lots of washers or oversize nuts.

Here are a couple of sites about it. Putting a force behind the hub to protect the bearing is a risky approach (might damage bearing) but it's often done that way.
