Default light issue

Wife came home from work yesterday, turned the van off and the driver side signal light staed on after the van was turned off. I replaced the bulb, same result. When the signal light is turned on, on that side, the back flashes fast but the front still stays on. I removed the bulb so it wouldn't stay on all night, but when i went to start the van the next day, the battery was drained enough that it wouldn't start. Any ideas, I really don't want to have to take the battery cable off everytime i drive the van.

I don't know for sure but it could be the flasher unit has went crazy.A simple job to replace,I think it just plugs into the fuse block or somewhere close.
You don't give a year for your van but if you're going to keep it you might want a Haynes manual to help find things like flasher relays.

The BCM maybe keeping the circuit active all the time. You may want to take it to the shop.

is there a way to reset the bcm so to speak, to stop it or is a shop the only option. I would just like to save some money over something that seems so simple.
