Default HELP!! Wheel sheered off while driving

Well, my 96 Grand Caravan decided to sheer off all the wheel studs and pass me on the freeway. My main thought is bad wheel bearing/wheel hub? I just had a shop look at it on Monday for a knock in the front end, but they told me it was the sway bar since the endlinks are broken and the bar was hitting the bottom of the van. Well, it obviously wasn't that since the whole wheel came off while driving down the freeway. Any thoughts on this before I start dropping money for parts?

Thanks, Chris

No, the wheels have been on there for 6-8 months and I checked the lug nuts a couple of months ago. We don't drive it much at all, maybe 2000 miles in the past 5 months. I put wheels off another Chrysler and didn't notice anything off. They seemed to be hubcentric and lined up just fine.

They were probably loose when you drove in and the shop wasn't smart enough to check the basics.

Sorry, That sucks

I checked the lug nuts myself when it started the knock a month or so ago. I have air tools and do all my own work. I just wanted their 2nd opinion on the knock. The lug nuts were not loose recently, but the shop siad they didn't remove the wheels, so they easily could have missed it. So I should replace the hub and the disc, anything else?

If not loose then, probally over-tightened . Can't see how a wheel bearing or hub could cause the problem,, But ??
