Exclamation 1999 caravan going into limp mode

I have a 1999 caravan with 143000 miles. This just started, when you start it, The digital indicator for the gear shift and odometer will be the first sign that it will be in "limp mode" The box around the gear select will be around all the gears and the odometer will look confused as the numbers will roll untill it gets to the correct millege. This happens at will and sometimes it's ok when starting. Also If started and everything is "normal" It will go into limp mode when it feels like it. When I say limp mode meaning won't shift out of first. Tried moving the plugs to the tranny computer and also the motor computer with no luck.
Anybody else have this problem? the garage never herd of this problem, and is just guessing what it is.
Please help!!!

1st get a scanner and ck for codes, 2nd go buy an ignition switch. Just the electric part not the whole ignition. This as been a problem with NS (body) mini van's, 1996 thru 2000. The ignition switch feeds voltage the EATX relay and goes to the controller and solenoid pack.
