Default No high gear when cold/ dim passenger light help please.

I just bought a 96 Grand Caravan and am having some problems with it. When the van sits for long periods of time(approx. 4+ hours or more), the van refuses to shift into high. If you stop, turn the van off and restart it then the problem goes away. You can also start it initially, shut it off after a few seconds and restart it. That usually eliminates the problem too. I have searched transmission threads and don't see anything quite the same.

The second problem is that I have a very dim light on the passenger side and no foglight(passenger)when the low beams are on. When you click on the high beams the headlights and the foglights all work. I tried replacing the headlight to no avail. I saw a thread talking about disconnecting the battery to reset the BCM and pulling the IOD(?) fuse to reset it. Any thoughts? Any help would be appreciated.

Ck the transmission for codes and post. the fog lite, should only come on with low beams not the high beams. Ck the fuses for the headlamps and if thats okay start ck'ing the grounds.

Can Autozone run the codes? There is no check engine light on. Where is the ground for the headlights? Thanks.

Update- Got the headlight fixed. Went to check the fuses and the one for the right low beam was missing. Put a fuse in it and it seems to be fine. Curious on why someone removed the fuse, so I am going to keep an eye on it. I am going to check the codes tomorrow for the transmission issue.

the trans module is on the firewall. i had issues with mine going into safe mode, i pulled all the connectors off, cleaned and spray with wd40. i also cleaed all the wires in the relay box on the left inner fender, this cured it. sounds like possible ground issues or moisture.

96 se forest green. I can hide in the tree,s
