help
I have a 1997 dodge caravan with error code 0403. Had the EGR valve replaced and now code 1698 is coming up? Does anyone know what this code is? Also been having a problem with my gauges not working. The ABS light will come on and all gauges will stop working, it seems to be when the roads are really wet. Any help would be appreciated.

If the speedo just quit, then replace the output sensor on the transmission. That would be the sensor, near the end of the trans. Or you could replace both input and output.

I have same issue. My 2000 Grand Caravan has the speedometer, fuel, tach gauges go intermittently to zero and then goes back to normal. The ABS light comes on and stays on. It drives Ok.
I had the input and output speed sensors replaced but it didn't help. Now the engine light came on with error code P1698. I had it read at AutoZone: No CCD message from TCM. Explanation failed ECM Probable cause Open CCD Bus line; failed TCM
Any ideas? I have a fluke meter but dont know how and where to check continuity of the correct wires?

You could have a problem with cluster taking the bus circuit down too.
Symptom:
P-1698 NO CCD MESSAGES FROM TCM
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P-1698 NO CCD MESSAGES FROM TCM
When Monitored: With the engine running.
Set Condition: No CCD messages are received from the TCM for 10 seconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DRB DOES NOT SHOW BUS OPERATIONAL
CCD WIRING HARNESS OBSERVABLE DEFECT
CCD BUS (+) CIRCUIT OPEN BETWEEN PCM AND TCM
CCD BUS (-) CIRCUIT OPEN BETWEEN PCM AND TCM
PCM DEFECTIVE (NO CCD MESSAGE)
TCM DEFECTIVE (NO CCD MESSAGE)
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 Ignition On
With the DRB, select 9Transmission9.
Note: The CCD Bus test is automatic.
Does the DRB show 9Bus Operational9?
All
Yes ® Go To 2
No ® Go to the appropriate symptom group for body diagnostics.
2 Ignition Off
With the DRB, select 9Engine9 module.
With the DRB erase trouble codes.
Raise all four wheels off the ground and properly support the vehicle.
Caution: Keep clear of rotating wheels in the next step.
Start the engine. Place the Shift Lever in Drive and allow the wheels to rotate for 1
minute.
Step on the brakes, put the Shift Lever back in Park.
With the DRB read Trouble Codes.
Does display show 9No CCD Message from TCM9 and the start run counter equal to
zero?
