Grinding!!!
Hi all! I'm glad I've found this forum.
Just yesterday I purchased a 2007 Caravan SE 2.4L. It has 20480 miles and still is under the 3/36000 warranty.
My wife and I notice that when we start the engine there is a short grinding sound (1-2 sec) that sounds like it's coming from the front-right of the vehicle.
The grinding sound comes back almost every time we accelerate from a dead stop (at a stop light, etc). The sound lasts 1-2 sec and then goes away.
Nothing else is wrong with the vehicle, it rides beautifully.
Is this normal for the overworked 2.4L engine or is this something I should bring it back to the dealer for?

Ck for any oil leaks coming from the crankshaft pulley. There is a problem with 2.4 engines. If its not leaking you should be okay, if its leaking then you may need to have the dealer replace the short block. What happens is the thrust shim falls into the oil pan and cause the crankshaft to walk, thus oil leak.
