I need to change the rear rotors and pads on my wife's Caravan. I put it up on Sunday and got the rotor free (lots of rust), but the parking brake shoes are holding the damn thing on. I think its the rust on the back part of the rotor because it does move freely when in its normal place. Once you try to take it off it gets caught on the shoes and will not turn. I saw the access hole in the back but all i can see is a spring and not the adjuster to loosen it. Anyone know any tricks before I beat the hell out of it to get it off? I don't want to wreck the shoes if i can avoid it. Thanks.

You need to loosen the shoe up to turn the rotor. Get the caliper off and with pry bar behine the rotor and a BFH or Swing press, Big hammer and beat it off.
