Exclamation 01 caravan 41TE/41AE HARD shifting...

Hello, I recently bought an 01 caravan with the 41TE/41AE. I changed the fluid and filter with mopar parts. I will tell you I slightly overfilled the fluid. Sometimes only when it is cold it shifts HARD from 1st - 2nd or 2nd -3rd. It feels like you hit a huge pot hole. If it is warm out I don't seem to have any problems, in fact it shifts beautifully. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance! Scott

Did the shifting problem start right after the fluid change? It can take a few hundred to 1000 miles for the shifting to smooth out afterward. I've experienced the same thing before

I did the fluid and filter within days of getting it, so I don't know if the problem existed before the change or not. I wonder why it could take 100's of KM of driving to smooth out the shifting? Seems strange. Thanks!

You may need to do a Quick learn or a flash update or both.

The transmission is run by the computer which has to relearn your driving habits
