95 Caravan transmission issue, please help
Hi folks,
Newbie here. I have a 95 Caravan, 3.6 with 4 spd. front wheel drive, 130,000 miles. It has developed a problem with the automatic transmission, in that the "kickdown" to a lower gear keeps happening during normal driving. This is an intermittent thing. Sometimes the the tranny shifts normally and other times it seems to stay in lower gear, causing the engine to rpm too high.
I changed the tranny fluid and filter and added an additive recommended by the dodge parts guy. It seemed great at first and seemed to shift normally, but after a day, it seems worse than before, with the kickdown to a lower gear happening with greater frequency.
Is there a way to adjust the kickdown? The shift lever appears to be a little bit off and not lined up at the P N D 3 2 correctly. Also, the shift lever will not go far enough to the right to allow shifting into lower gear.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Don

You need to ck fort stored codes in the tcm and post. Also move the transmission away from the spark plugs and tie strap to the a/c line. The spark plug wires send a rfi signal into the trans harness and screws up the shifting points.
