looking to fix my power liftgate issue and just trying to find out where I can get this part for cheaper than stealer of $175+tax

this is not the power motor for the liftgate but the power liftgate LATCH.

Are you positive its the latch?
The release switch on the tailgate is very common to fail and cause it to not open.

 

well from what I've been reading, symptoms are the same so I'm assuming it's the latch.

when I press it manually at the rear, the latch is unresponsive to the handle so I would have to use the key.

Any Online vendors that sell parts for cheap?

 

I've replaced probably close to a hundred liftgate switches. Don't recall ever replacing a latch that wasn't collision damage.
Switch is cheaper if you're guessing...

well, what I meant is... usually there's a dealership or two that sponsors the forum for discounts. I've belonged to many that had exclusive forum discount. I am surprised to see there aren't any dealers here that is willing to discount the parts

 

also, if I don't clear the codes, will replacing the latch not work?

 

Disconnecting battery should clear codes.
What codes are you getting?
You should have mentioned them earlier.

 

i don't know whether I have a code or not but some said there will be codes if the liftgate fails to open.

so there is NO one to purchase parts from online at a discount????
