Trailer brake controller installation
Hi all, I'm new here ... hope someone can help with this ... thanks in advance.
My vehicle is a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan and I want to install a trailer brake controller. One of the wires from the controller is to be connected to the cold side of the stoplight switch, the cold side being the wire that sends current to the stoplights when the brake pedal is depressed.
I think I've located the stoplight switch, a small white plastic box with a plug or connector attached - many wires coming out of this connector.
Here's my problems:
- Is this the connector that has the wire I want to tap into?
- How do I remove this connector from the box?
_ which wire is the one of interest to me (they are colour-coded)?
Does anyone know where I can get a diagram of this/these circuits? I've looked for a Haynes or Chilton DIY Manual but none are available - perhaps the vehicle is too new.
Thans again for any help.
Clark
