Hi guys did a little research on my own, I got a Engine code off the dash of P-1684... so I looked it up and it was something to do with the Battery I belive, so I am going to swap it out and dissconnect the batt for 5 mins to try and reboot computer... just want to know if I am on the right tack here, and if theres something else I should do.

I show p1684 as The battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts. starts (status indicator only - NOT a reported fault code)

If no cel don't disconnect battery.... it rresets monitors etc needlessly

Code displayed on dash was P1684, which means battery has been disconnected with in the last 50 starts.. I would like to know what that means?

I have taken the Batt out and replaced it with another, and waited 10 mins in between to reboot computer, and light has gone out and not returned as of yet.

So I guess my Batt was bad????

suggestion...operate vehicle if CEL (ck eng lite) returns....take advantage of the free code checks available at some auto parts stores ie autozone

Anyone else know what the reason behind this error is, and what triggers it?

not one of the codes I would worry over IF just this one time..
Do you have a remote starter- their bypassing of the "normal" start sequence will set these codes...Blown fuses, Other series codes B- U may also trip Pcode

My info says this should NOT turn on the MIL that is the confusion...

Suggestion was operate vehicle advise if CEL trips again...And then take advantage of the free code cks. Any other issues- ??
