I having trouble getting the caliper pins out to replace my pads. It appears there is a lock nut on the pin. It is a very thin nut that a normal wrench cannot grip. Is there a special tool for this or am I doing this wrong?

 

you need to hold the pin to remove the bolt, just take, i think a 13mm wrench and grind it narrow then take out the bolt. i only done brakes on 1 08 but its been a while

 

Yeah, that nut can be a pain. Try a small adjustable wrench (crescent style) or a cheap Chinese wrench that you can grind down.
