You really don't have a choice, They have the scanner to remove the codes. Once you have the codes, then can either fix the problem your self or have them repair it.

You have a choice. Lets face it dealers are crooks, looking to screw anyone who graces their door. I had the same problem on my van. Do a visual inspection of the front sensors, especially the wiring that hooks up to them. What I found on mine was a broken wire on the drivers side. I patched the wire and no more light on dash. Just this type of repair will cost a few hundred bucks at the dealer. If they do there normal job, they will replace the sensor and the wiring. This will run much higher. This repair cost me about 30 cents for the weather tight butt splice and about 15 min labor in diagnoses and repair. It is a design flaw, as the wiring was ran between the bumper and a metal bracket. What happens is, when the bumper hits a curb, and gets pushed on. It runs the risk of severing the wires. To correct this, I just rerouted the wires. Again, Dodge or any other dealer, will not admit to this, and try to pry as much cash out of the public as possible. I only go to the dealership for parts I can't get anywhere else. This even gives me heartburn. I have fixed many such issues by just being diligent, and doing research.

polishviking - I do like your style but, all dealerships aren't crooks. There are honest dealerships that will go the extra mile for you. Trouble is finding them because they are a rare breed

EDIT - As for opening an old thread pointed out by TNtech below it looks like both of us could use a new pair of glasses.
