96-2000 T&C rear whl bearing
Anyone out there know if the rear bearing is pressed in or just a snug fit? Just wondered before I get a bigger hammer. I have the four bolts and antilock sensor out but it didn't want to come out tapping on it lightly w/hammer. The new bearing has a machined surface that made me curious.
I,m also going to do the rear brakes including cylinders. Will I have to reset any antilock codes after bleeding the lines?
Thanks for any help.

Once you take off the brake drum, then you'll need to force it out. It is not pressed, it's a very close tolerance fit and figure after ALL the years it's been installed, ever heard of corrosion? it's an awsome bonding agent. you need to overcome that, sometimes with some force. One of the BEST simple tools, invented 1000's of years ago, it the wedge. With a wedge type tool, you can apply a hammer force with this tool between the bearing flange and the backing plate parallel to the mounting surfaces or perpendicular tot the spindle. wedging method between the mounting surfaces is the way I usually need to use to remove bolt in hub bearing assemblies
Thanks. I like to check before I start beating on something. Sometimes there's a special tool or a trick that I don't think of. I have a couple friends that hammer first, ask questions later!
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
