1:30-2:30 flushed the core and replaced Tstat. Thats an hour. I'm good but not great. lol

Anyway, it's not fixed. It's better, but had to hit the highway for work today and steadily lost heat and the rad is still blocked off at the grill. Temp rises from cold as usual and stays steady even when I loose my heat.
Any idea's other than tearing out the heater box? I'm figuring not, but I'm hoping.
Where is the air intake? External. Maybe I can block it off and just run on recirc if it's stuck open. Dang thing just needs to make it another couple months.

Maybe ck your vaccum hose to the heater control valve. Or vaccum to the heater box.

Thanks, I'll have a look, but all the vaccum controlled options work so I assumed everything was ok there.

What are the temps of the heater hoses into and out of the firewall? I doubt it's a VACUUM related problem

They get hot but I did forget to put the new rad cap on. Duh.
I'll check the vacuum lines and replace the cap today.

Checked all the vacuum lines and checked for for vac in the lines. All is good and no vac leaks under the hood. And as it turns out I hadnt forgot the rad cap.
And yes it blows.
Well, it's to freakin cold to wrench outdoors so I guess I start looking for one a little sooner than I wanted or I suffer the winter out in it. I dont have many long haul jobs to do now so Maybe I'll lump it out.
Thanks for advise folks.

What are the temperatures on the heater hoses in to the firewall and out? With the heater controls on Vent (blowing air at your face) van totally warmed up sitting at idle, what is the temp coming out of the vents? I like to see 150-160° from the vents fan on high.

This thing never had great heat as long as I've owned it. But the hoses in and out get hot.
What I have noticed, is the 2 small side window vents always seem to good. Floor setting and defrost are decent but vent is always colder than the rest. This all sitting still of course.
Someone also told me that they have had a heck of a time getting the air out of the heater cores in these things. Mainly the 3.3 setups.
She's heard me talkin about scrappin her and getting tempermental. The clip that holds the shifter cable up under the dash broke last night and left me with a limp shifter.
It let go as it hit reverse when I pulled onto a side road to have leek. I grabbed a wrecking bar, jumped out and stuck it behind a wheel so I could try finding the problem.
Had to cut a chunk of steel out of the body of the van to make a c-clip and stick it in there to get gears again. lol
