no start after cleaning trottle body
1999 caravan 3.3 liter
I removed the trottle body and cleaning it with carb. cleaner, then let it dry. Reinstalled with a new trottle body gasket. There are two plugs ( silinoids) on the trottle body. The top plug I had to twist a little and then screwed it on. The bottom plug has a plunger in it. I pulled out plunger a little and cleaned the end and pushed it back into the plug. Did pulling the plunger out damage the siliod?
No trouble codes showing, it has fuel, spark. Pulled spark plugs out it was flooded. I cleaned plugs with carb cleaner, reinstalled still no start.
thanks guys,
Mike

siliod? You should never push and pull on the AIS motor. good way to f-it up. IDK why you attemped to 'fix' your van but it appears that you should have left it alone. the 2 connections at the throttle body are AIS and TPS. Is it safe to assume you used a new gasket and torqued the nuts properly? A vacuum leak can also cause you problems. It is nearly impossible to speculate a self induced problem. We have no clue wtf you could have done.
I wonder if maybe you didn't bend over a pin in either connector causing a short. I know a short on 5v ref will cause a no start (I use to prank a fellow co-worker with a paper clip on a tps)
did you actually pull all the rear plugs too?

I would think if the electrical connections for the throttle position sensor (TPS) and the idle air control (IAC) valve were not good, you should be getting a MIL/CEL (malfuncation indication light/check engine light) with the associated fault codes.
My 1993 Caravan factory service manual did describe a procedure to extent and retract the pintle of the IAC valvle which helps control your idle speed. If you "manually" changed the position, it might be out of range per the computer memory.
You could try holding the gas pedal half way down to open the throttle body during cranking and hope it starts and the computer can learn the new IAC pintle position.
Or install a known good IAC - got a donor you can borrow?
