99 caravan transmission need help
Hello... Im new to this forum and i have looked all over the place for help and have had no luck. What i have is a 99 Dodge Grand Caravan SE AWD 3.8, The other day went to move the van from the driveway and made it about 5 feet then made a thunk noise, then nothing just like it was in neutral but when in gear the speed o goes to 10 mph and moves up when rpms go up.The fluid looks and smell good. Any input would help the shop i took it to said i need a new trans but im not looking forward to that. Thanks

You may have a broken hard part in the transmission, planetary gear or hub and shaft. but these are just a guess. You may want to have your shop look at it. Or could also have a broken axle shaft ot cv joint too.

Yep, something broke, no magic fix for this one. You'll definitely need a replacement transmission. Too bad you're so far away, I have a 1999 T&C trans forsale. before you run out and spend $2000 (common overpriced amount) check out www.car-part.com these junkyards will usually offer 30day warranty
