I've seen a lot of 08 caravan owners having front and rear brake wear problems. 15-20k on the rears and 40k on the fronts seem to be normal for the first round. and people wonder why chrysler went hero to zero in less than 15 years.

Default brake replacement

Wife just took the van in with 20k miles on it. There was a bad vibration when stopping above 50 mph. Turns out that all the rotors and pads are shot!! Are you kidding me! They are going to replace them with a deductible of $100. What happens when another 20k miles comes around? I just hope I don't have the tranny problems before I can pay it down enough to trade this POS in.

I just got a note from Dodge that says they will do brakes for
$50 deductible between 12-24,000 miles
$100 deductible between 24-36,000 miles.

Thumbs down 28K of all highway miles and need new front and rear

Are you kidding me? This is my first vehicle that I have purchased and I need front and rear brakes at 28K miles. The dealership advised me that the average brake life on ANY vehicle is 22.5K miles. This is crazy! I am trading in this POS for a foreign car. I live in the Motor City and thought...hmm, let me buy Amercian. CRAP.....never again! I called Chrysler to complain to let them know the brake system is not up to par and that it needs to be a recall not just an extended warranty on the front brakes with a $100 deductable. What about the back brakes.........This is the reason they have gone from Hero to Zero and why their sales have gone down hill!!!!!

Default brake issues

My '06 Caravan, with 176K miles, is about to have the third set of front pads and rotors, not including the set that came on the van when new. Over 90 percent of the miles are highway, and I don't ride the brakes. I believe it's a chronic problem that Chrysler hasn't acknowledged or done anything about. Unfortunately, every time it's gotten to where you can hear the problem, the rotors are gone, too.

I had the opposite luck - our 05 DGC went 114,000km on the original pads and I replaced them only because they started creaking when you would creep along at low speed and it annoyed me. Fronts were 25% rears were 50-60% and the rotors had very light grooves only so I reused them. I have 4 wheel disc brakes if that matters.

I replaced the oem pads with monroe ceramic pads. I am 10,000km in and so far they show *******ly no wear so I have high hopes that they'll make it past 200,000km.

The mileage on the van is about 50-60% highway and 40-50% city.

Common problem on late 4th and 5th generation vans. Chrysler will never admit it. All they do is put up with the flack and depend on public ignorance from their new customers.
