Default transmission pan bolt torque

2006 Dodge grand caravan sxt
v6 3.8L

1. I am going to be droping the transmission pan in a few weeks and would like to know the proper Torque for the pan bolts when replacing

2. how many Qts does the pan typically hold, I was guessing 3-4

3. mopar RTV?

4. is the filter held in place by a t20 bolt? torques settings for it?

also is there any do's or don't associtated with the filter (will be getting the mopar trans filter)

I know my Jeep I do not put the o-ring on the filter but instead I install it first in the transmission then place the filter in(just checking to see if it's the same with a Dodge van as it was with my Jeep)

Thanks for you help

Bolt torque is 165 in lbs. The transmission will take about 4 quarts of ATF+4. The filter just snaps on and has an oring on it. Pretty easy as trans services go, have fun!

The trick is to get out your torque wrench and see how many foot lbs it takes to strip the treads on the first bolt. Back off the torque wrench 1 ft/lb and torque the rest.

Wink thanks

for the info

165in/lbs is the key thing I wanted to know, and thanks for the info for the filter just pushing inplace wasn't completely sure on weather to have the o-ring on the filter when installing it, or installing the o-ring frist like my jeep requires

and I hope I don't need to use 2002caravan's tip
