First off, the '06 and '07 models were never recalled either. They just extended the warranty on them until 70K. The issue was the bottom of the housing and the seal. It was changed to the seal they use now. I have seen some rear evaporators on the '08 and '09's but nothing like the older ones. Send a personal message to DodgeCares on this sight. He works for Chrysler customer service. See if there is anything he can do.

Older thread but I think this might be my problem.for those that changed the discharge hose them selves was it as simple as changing the hose and recharging the freon? Is there anything else I would have to do?
I'm guessing this is the hose

I'm guessing this is the leaking hose?

A gentleman. This van is my wifes and has less than 5.000 miles. The A/C stopped working Tuesday, a great way to start the week after a holiday weekend. I got there early had a short wait on a first come first serve basis. I recieved an apoligy since I had gone quite a way to get there. The gent at the service counter went outside & under the hood to verify that it was a refridgerant line that was leaking & after reaching to where the rubber line is compress fitted to a bent aluminum line at the end connected to the compressor he had oil on his fingers. Thats the problem. He said theres a recall and that the dealers are getting the new redesigned parts in limited supplies and that I have a 2 week wait. Don't bother trying to charge the system while your waiting for your part as the charge wont last long. This recall has not yet been posted any place that I could find. As a mechanic myself, I'll sit this 1 out. (Hey - it's free) Lets hope this remidies the problem @ hand. I'll get back to let all know how it goes.

Wow, it seems as though some of these vans didn't have problems right away.
When I had originally posted 6/6/10 (I think) I was in the process of moving.
I took the van back to the dealer shortly after my last post and had the line replaced at no cost to me. I've since put at the most 60,000 miles total to date.
I'm not sure about the mileage exactly as it is still my wife's vehicle and I don't drive it. As far as the problem it hasn't had any problems since 2010.
