I assume the hose will only connect to one of the fittings since they are different sizes. I've never used a home recharge kit but would guess it connects to the low side which is the larger line coming off of the compressor. How many miles do you have on your van and do you have rear a/c? There is a huge issue with the rear evaperator leaking at the rear h-valve connection and the factory has extended the warrenty to 7 years and 70,000 miles.

Thank you for your response.

There's only 42000 miles on it. Just bought it last month used. There is a rear climate control on the ceiling, and I checked the temperature of both the rear and front vents and there was no difference. The air was warm from both places. Whether that's rear AC I don't know.

I found the 2 fittings...I believe. so I guess I use whichever one the recharge hose fits on... Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I also just had the dealer look up the VIN number and they said there's no recalls on it.

The front and rear systems use the same lines. If you are low, I will almost guarentee you that is your problem. You can put your can in if you want but they usually leak pretty bad. the fitting by the altenator is the low side and most likely where you will connect to. After charging the system, go look under the van behind the right rear tire and you might hear or see it leaking from around the h-valve.

The system holds 2.38 lbs of freon and a pound is 16 oz. so around 38 oz of freon. If you get any more, get one with some pag oil in it. they lose quite abit when they leak back there

Well I recharged the system and it's still warm. Didn't see any leaks from the front or back, so something else may be wrong. Guess I'll have to take it in. Thank God for extended warranties.
