Excellent. I'll take a look. In case I don't find it, which side of the engine should it be?

Also, is it tamper resistant?

Perfect! Found it exactly where you said.

Now I have to figure out the exact same fluid that was used since this is actually an '09 VW Routan SEL (same as Dodge Caravan except body, interior, and suspension). Not sure if VW decided to use the exact same fluid or not, or if they used the MOPAR ATF+4, but with some extra additive. I'll see what dealer service says. Thanks again.

same fluid atf + 4. now the only thing to worry about is that you need 2 things. special tool thats actually a dip stick and a scan tool to check the transmissions fluid temperature. using a graph they have tells where the dip stick level should be. little hard for a home backyard mechanic to figuire out.

What if I let the vehicle and replacement fluid sit overnight in the garage. Next day, I remove whatever I can throught the dipstick hole, measure exactly, then replace the volume I removed. Since this is presumably "lifetime" fluid in a "sealed" transmission, the level shouldn't be dropping such that I need to figure out the most appropriate new level. Same since I won't be dropping the pan and replacing the filter making it impossible to measure precisely. I'm only at 15.5k and I'd only be doing this as preventative every other oil change or so.

Any reason this is actually a bad idea. Any input appreciated.

I should mention, this is essentially what I have been doing with a Volvo S60 and V40 with no problems. Only difference is that there is a drain plug and here I assume I'll have to use a large syringe or pump and tubing through the dipstick hole.

The motor oil dipstick works perfectly and the proper level can be determined using the motor oil dipstick while the emergency brake is engaged and the vehicle is in gear.
