We really need an expert to help us with this. We are hoping to buy a tent trailer weighing 2500lbs. When we bought our Grand Caravan the dealer told us it would tow 3500 lbs. However, we've been trying to confirm that information and have been told answers ranging from 1000 lbs to 3600 lbs. We've checked the manual, called several dealerships, and called Chrysler Canada as well and no one seems to have a concrete answer for us.
Can you help?

I'm not an expert but the towing capacity of a 2007 Grand Caravan is 1600 pounds unless you have the trailer tow package on it from factory (Engile oil cooler, transmission cooler, self leveling rear suspension and trailer hitch) in which case your good to pull 3600 pounds.
I hope it helps

There is no specific weight. It depends on the weight of the van before the trailer is added. The vehicle has a GCWR rating and that can not be exceeded. (Gross combination weight rating) The van loaded and the trailer loaded cannot exceed this rating, hence the less crap in the van, the more it can tow. The owners manual should have all the weight ratings listed.
