02 GC Maintenance History, 03 To Present
This is the maintenance life of an 2002 Grand Caravan Sport made in Canada and delivered to Avis Rental and then it Car-max in GA @ 7,948 miles.
You guys are going to recognize some of the common things.
She has a 3.3 Flex, Cloth, drum rears and came on steel wheels. Dual AC, manual doors, key-less entry, trip meter in the over head with home link, lots of speakers.
9/01/03 Purchased from Carmax Kennesaw GA @ 7,948 miles.
52 miles later @ 8000 miles a JVC KD-S590 AM/FM CD player was installed by Bestbuy.
To shorten this list, JiffyLube did the oil changeds regularly @3k or so throught the ownership.
11/16/04 @22,927 It went to Chrysler for recall work, Power sterring hose.
12/8/04 @23,583 miles, Brakes vibrate and noisy, surfaced rotors and added ceramic pads.$201.00
7/12/2004 @18,351 Alternator. Warranty.
3/3/05 Went in for recall #D48 (Radio gets wet from condensation via vent)
4/21/05 @26,422 They hit something in road that punctured tank. Had to tow in. New tank & pump, $617.00.
9/2/06 @ 38,616 New pads, truned rotors.Rotate Resurfaced rear drums. $279.00 at Goodyear.
9/14/06 @39,186 drums were smoking, readjusted. No charge.
10/7/06 @39992 Napa Battery $79.00.
11/24/06, @42427 2 tires , 4 wheel align, $292.22 at Goodyear.
1/20/07 @44030 Backing up Brakes squealing left front. Going forward both grind when braking. Scuff pads and turn rotors. No Charge.at Goodyear.
12/26/07 @54514 Loss of power with moaning noise. New rack and pinion, alignment, and power sterring flush, decarbonization fuel system, warning of about PS pump in furure. $1219.00.at Goodyear.
5/31/08 @59388, Fuel pump & filter, Pads and rotors turned, spark plugs, differential service, air filter, Trans service, anti freeze flush, $1,232,35 at Goodyear.
6/10/08 @59514, Not shifting properly, creaking in hard turns,= Reman right drive axle, 2 new struts, w/new mounts alignment, 980.35 at Goodyear.
12/6/08 @63964 power steering noise, New hoses and flush, align ref thrust angle. $215.95 at Goodyear.
1/23/09 @65388, Brakes grinding, smelly.Rear drum overhaul. Fluid flush. Intake manifold gasket. $854.48 at Goodyear.
3/17/09 @66856, AC compressor, Dryer, expansion valve, belt, $852.70, at Goodyear.
6/17/09 @69598 Brake lights, 3rd brake light, l tail light, 21.93, at Goodyear.
9/11/09 @71429 Emissions, squealing brakes, wheel align thrust line, 4 tires, balance, both front brake hoses, fluid change, rear wiper, 1362.08, at Goodyear.
1/2/10 @74075 Window washer not working, oil change, new water pump, thermostat housing, radiator cap, $564.05, at Goodyear.
4/24/10 @76580, Lube, blower motor resistor, Run diagnostic, replace right axle. $462.93, at Goodyear.

5/25/10, I buy @ 76677 miles and put in a monster battery since the current one was corroding and 4 years old.
6/10/10 Remote starter system installed Avital Brand.
6/14/2010 Pioneer DEH-P5200 HD & XM receiver installed.
7/29/2010 Front brakes and Rotors. Advanced Auto lifetime parts @107947 miles
8/5/2010 The Advanced Auto ceramic pad replacements of the OE bi-metal does not agree with the Wagner rotors and swapped out via lifetime warranty replacing with bi-metal. Better but not bullet proof.
1/27/2011 Sway bar bushings, Moog Blue @ 92,000 miles.
12/2011 Oil pan gasket replaced. @ 110,000 miles
9/6/2011 Sway bar bushings installed. OE with inserts. @ 103,069 miles
9/9/2011 Repaired starter with new solenoid contacts. @ 103,069 miles
12/9/2011 Front Brakes serviced again. Did the warranty rotor and pad swap with Advance Auto @ 116052 miles.
3/12/12 New Michelin Defender Tires @ 113,148 miles.
3/12/12 Aluminum wheels By Sport Edition, F2 model from TireRack.com.
3/12/12 Tire pressure monitoring by Orange Electronic (P409S)
4/5/2012 Drivers Side CV Axle replaced. @114,640 miles
9/2012 Van broken into and theft attempt made. @ one hundred twenty three plus miles
Used steering column eBay purchased for the Key switch cast metal housing, $75.00 shipped, saved $300.00 + over a new one.
- New SKIM module.
- Dealership flashed skim.
- Viper 5704 Security and remote start installed.
10/23/2012 Sound system upgrade. All Memphis Power Reference series speakers in all 6 places. Dash 5.25 coaxial, doors and rear 6X9" Tri-axials, on an Alpine Amp, 10" Sub woofer in a their box on a PowerBass Amp. @ 124,000 miles
11/12/2012 Brake Drums turned. Could feel slow roll to a stop pulsation. Shoes OK. Pulsation gone. @ 125,200 miles
12/15/12 Front Brake upgrade to StopTech premium cryo treated and drilled rotors with Raybestos advanced technology pads. Fluid flushed.@ 125,245 miles
12/22/12 New battery, the largest I could get an 800 Cold Cranking Amp replaced under warranty. 125,330 miles
12/30/12 Transmission shift solenoid pack @ 125,393 miles
