There is a JVC in my 2002 GC and I need to replace it.
I went in to see how it was installed wiring-wise.

Is this a plug and play install? It was done by BestBuy in 2003.
I want to swap out to a Pioneer and hope I can get an adapter from Crutchfeild or the like and do a plug and play?

 

Yep, the gray and black connectors are the factory radio wiring so you should be in good shape.

 

Thanks, I just ordered a Pioneer DEH-P5200HD deck and its associated XM receiver.
I see it looks like I can mount the XM antenna centered above the windshield. Lots of groove to tuck the wire in all the way there.
I hope the mounting of it has a peel and stick option as well as the magnetic. I can see it winding up in a car wash device. :-#

I'll be interested in seeing how well the built in HD radio side of it does. I already have an XM account to a unit I never use in the house to swap to.
The jump drive on the front for my MP3's will be good too.

 

just cut the old adapter off right by the crimp ends and strip the ends and re-use it. I've used my same adapter for 3 radios. The wires are labeled as to what they are for.

I have purcahsed cheaper elsewhere but when it comes to customer service contact response time and turn around times the bargain shops usually suck.
