Default 2006 Town & Country EGR failure on 3.8L

Is this a common problem on these engines? I only have 37K miles on the van and the check engine light is telling me that the EGR is out of position. I am guessing it needs to be replaced, which is easy enough. I just wanted to make sure there was not an easier fix.

Thanks,

Ed

Very common and the valve needs to be replaced.

How long will the replacement valve last? Should I purchase OEM or aftermarket?

Thanks,

Ed

I'm a dealer guy so I only use OEM but the new one's seem better. I guess I can't remember doing the same car more than once. It's usually the sensor that goes bad, not the valve itself.
