okay my 1997 has been running fine the check engine light came on 3days ago and yesterday it didnt want to start. the engine turns over just wont start i havent tryed to change any parts yet any suggestions on what could be wrong with it?? u can email me at mandy2132004@yahoo.com please and thanks alot!!

 

bad fuel pump, bad coil, bad cam sensor, bad crank sensor, bad computer, blown fuse, bad relay, ignition switch problem, out of gas, broken wire, broken camshaft, broken timing belt/chain are just a few things that could be wrong with it.

 

Fuel and spark are the main things to look for. What fuel pressure do you have? Are you getting spark? Those are the basics to start with. Have you done the key dance to see if there are codes stored?

 

thanks but i just got it runnin sunday i changed the cam shaft senor and the crank shaft senor. now i gotts change the o2 senor cuz it keeps loosing power while im driving

 

good job there. keep going, should have it running good after replacing the o2 .. maybe look at the cat too.
