I would like to shut off the auto locking feature on my 1996 dodge caravan sport. I read and tried the directions on the owners manual about 6 times with no luck. The hatch door lock is malfunctioning and we have to hit the lock button on the drivers door a bunch of times every time we want to open it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

 

you have 2 separate issues.
1st is you want to cancel the auto lock function.---have someone else give it a try. I believe you cycle the key4x and hold the door lock button in the unlock position. you'll get some kind of indicator if it worked.


2nd is the rear hatch is not unlocking properly.

take off rear hatch cover, lubricate latch mechanism and adjust pull handle rod.
