Unhappy No Spark replace ecu !please help

I have a 1996 dodge caravan 2.4 liter and just replace the ecu and still no spark. I am drained and really need any assistance on trying to fix this van. This is a list of everything
ecu
cam shaft sensor
crank shaft sensor
fuel pump
fuel filter
coil pack
automatic shut down relay
and still no spark. Can someone tell me is there any other relay or anything electric I should replace. It almost a year now and still haven't got it running and my wife is pregnant and really need the van before Sept. Please if you know anything about a dodge caravan 1996 2.4 liter I would really appreciate it... God Bless...

I wouldn't replace anything without doing some testing. you need to get a wiring diagram, a scanner, a digital multimeter (voltmeter), and a factory service manual. until you get those crucial diagnostic tools, you might as well replace the van too.

Bluboy:
I don't know your particular van but you must track down the issue. In general, determine if this van is fully electronic (all controlled by ECU) or partial. Does it have a distributor or does the electricity come out of the coil pack directly. Once took me couple of months to track down a similar problem in an 86 Volvo. It turned out that inside the distributor (partial electronic system) was where the problem was. Some vehicles have what is referred to as a hall sensor in the distributor. The signal is sent by its function, which is also related to the other parts of the system, like the crankshaft sensor. It has a circular metal vane on the distributor shaft over the hall sensor, with a slot on its side. That vane and slot creates the signal as it rotates past the hall sensor. Turned out the thin wire on the hall sensor had broken, thus no spark signal. The hall sensor was replaceable but was riveted in, which made it easy to break the new one, thus replacing the distributor was best. If that part exists, inspect it closely. Get a manual, or tow the van to a shop that may diagnose the problem and give you that information, which you can then repair yourself. Hope this helps.

Did you ck the timing belt? Why don't you remove the spark plugs and perform a compression test. And post the compression readings.

On a 96 dodge caravan 2.4 it doesn't have a distributor but it has a coil but the reason why it isn't getting a spark is because it is not receiving power to the coil if it receives power to the coil then it will create a spark. We check pretty much all the fuses today and still no spark. Even if we replace the coil it will get no spark because it is not getting to the coil. Well thanks anyways and if anyone that might know please don't hesitate to email me at bluboy619@yahoo.com I spent about 6 hrs today even went to the junkyard to get some relays but still NO SPARK....

Look for the crank sensor.I believe it on the rear of the engine.ck the wires going to the sensor. Open the harness you may find some wires have melted together.

do you have a wiring diagram. if you don't have power at the coil, that power comes from the ASD relay. if that relay is not energizing, then you won't have spark

without a factory service manual and wiring diagrams you're pretty much working blind!!

You got yourself a head-scratcher there.

I'm agreeing with MT and sapporo, your problem is in the harness somewhere.
OR.. its something super silly like bad grounds. Your van still uses the body for ground, and a coroded ground can cause a no spark problem.

I'd be focusing on the cam and crank sensor wires. They most directly control spark delivery.
With both sensors being brand new, the wires are suspect.

The Haynes or Chilton book will help you trace the wires and preform tests.

Good Luck,
