did the mechanic not put the Leak die in?

when i had mine replaced My compressor Did Not fail, just the clutch and the shop filled it with freon and the die just in case there were any leaks, they even told me to come back in a week and they would check the pressure and use the black lights to look for any unknown leaks

He did put the dye and checked it. When checked yesterday too there were no leaks. Again one has to trust the guy as I am not present at the area where he is doing it. The compressor too seems to work. All electrical wires and fuse are good. The fan is working too. If there is a leak of freon will it not go off too fast and might not have worked until 5 min. before it stopped? I am not having much idea on these, pl. ignore my silly questions.

One more thing came to my attention, the previous time, only the Compressor was changed and not other components like the expansion valve or receiver/dryer. Could this have caused damage to the new compressor and made it to stop blowing cold?

The expansion valve should always be replace when replacing the compressor.
