mil on and no code displayed
i never have encountered that one. but i've had a lot of junk code readers not read any codes and the MIL was on.
if there is a code, you can count on the key dance to show if anything is there. again if it's loose connections then they should get a 12 or what ever the P code is (i think that's like p1964 or something like that)

so before you change topics what's the results of the initial issue (this isn't an ADD issue is it?
)
rear heater tubes are available from carquest. I buy them for right around $100 w/tax.
yes you can by pass them, just take out the Tee's or get some caps for the tee's readily available at ALL auto parts stores (even the "help" displays have caps for this job).

Still have mil on and I've done the key dance with no code displayed. Mechanic said that it may be a bad control box. Some times it want start right away turn the key and it just clicks, battery tested good, a couple of key turns and it starts. Could there be any symptoms that I might be over looking if it is the transmission controller? It does have 155,000 on it and is slower than it was.
you have too many problems with this van for me to keep straight, maybe get a new vehicle? or have a live-in mechanic (a car nanny)
I have no clue what you mean by the last sentence???
clicking is a bad starter solenoid contact.
