Default 2000 Caravan Starting and Speedometer/Tachometer Issues

I replaced the starter in my 2000 Caravan Sport about a month ago and everything was good for a couple weeks. Then the speedometer and tachometer stopped working periodically...sometimes they work fine when we start the van but will stop working while we're driving but if you pull over and restart the engine they usually work again. Other times they won't work as soon as it's started. Everything else on the instrument panel seems to work fine.

It is also having some trouble starting and there is a clicking (sounds like it's coming from under the dash), almost sounds like the battery isn't charged but the lights, instruments and radio work fine. It will start for now but not sure how long it will keep starting.

I'm wondering if all of these issues may be somehow related. I tried running the self-diagnosis procedure that I found on another thread (turning ignition ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON) but nothing seems to happen.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Sean

Welcome to DF
You could have a problem with the ignition switch. Also have the cluster checked for codes.

what you need is a Sticky with "MOST common gen 3 minivan problems" then I think more people would look at it before posting.
